Citizens for Better Schools of Battle Ground
Who We Are
Citizens for Better Schools is a committee of parents, community members, and school volunteers working together toward a common mission.
To promote quality education for all children in the Battle Ground School District through campaigning, advocacy, and public education, uniting the communities served by our district.
Our Relationship to the District
School districts in Washington state are prevented by state law from spending your tax dollars to promote its levies and bonds. In fact, school employees cannot spend district time nor even use district resources, such as e-mail, for this purpose.
Therefore, this organization was originally formed to fill the role of promoting levies and bonds that we felt were necessary in order to provide quality education to our community's children. We receive our funding entirely from donations and use these funds to publish advertisements and flyers that communicate the value that these levies and bonds bring to our community.
